Link Building For Branding Yourself Online

We normally divide SEO or Search Engine Optimization into two sections - on-page SEO and off-page SEO. In the on-page SEO section we normally have to have a code of optimization, content navigation and optimization. And in the off-page SEO or SEM section we concentrate on the various forms of link development such as viral marketing, social media promotion, etc. However, webmasters often commit an easy mistake. They often take the link building process as only as the SEO technique. It is very true that incoming keyword rich links do heavily improve your search engine ranking. But if you want to develop yourself as an online brander, you must think way beyond SERP. I suggest you to start thinking that link building as the means for brand development by increasing your online visibility. The logic is quite simple; if your target audience can easily see your link or website’s name in different channels (video, content, image and even slide shows) on relative or exact topic, it would greatly help you develop a brand. And this helps you in increasing your ranking - naturally (the basic rule of obtaining links for SEO is getting them from relative or exact topic pages). To add upon this, I would suggest you to obtain a link from a high traffic page even if it’s a no-follow link or even if the link does not have any anchor text. So, what about these paid links? This is an avoidable question that should follow the last paragraph. If you can eliminate the footprints of a paid link, you can then go for it. But what if you decide you don’t want to go this way? You can go then decide to go for the no-follow links or redirected links from websites that obtain very heavy volume of your targeted traffic. You should also consider obtaining similar links from websites that are ranking higher than you for your targeted keywords. You may also have the ability to begin eating at their visitors.
