Does Social Bookmarking Really Beat Search Engines

Search engines have really been one of the best ways that the information and news have been organized online through the years. When individuals look for new webpages, a lot of them have used search engines to do it. Most of the webpages get the majority of their traffic from the search engines. However, I still think that the search engines can’t keep up with all of the new developments on the net. Web 2.0 has really lead to the visitors user-input-focused on the net. Social bookmarking has allowed many of their users to rate webpages, and uses algorithms to determine which webpages the users like most based on their previous ratings. This does provide a huge amount of potential. I also think that social bookmarking webpages may even surpass the major search engines. So what do you think?
