Classified Advertisments

While I absolutely love both Craigslist and Backpage.com, you would realize that there are people who tend to trash them by overly abusing their free advertising webpage. Do not be any of those individuals. The individuals who own these websites did not create it with this in mind. They’re a free public service and it is not ok to take advantage of them. One advertisement here and there is really fine. With Backpage.com, you need to have a sponsored advertisement to be seen and their charge fees are quite reasonable. But, don’t make it the only form of advertising you use. When you abuse the free advertising websites it makes you look unprofessional and gives certain individuals the impression that you are not making any money on the internet. My advice is to keep the free advertising to a limit. With free advertising, you can sometimes get what you would have paid for if you have used paid advertisements. Instead, invest into something where you are on featured ads that can keep you at the top of the page or in the top 10 list of revolving ads. Some where will your ad would be seen! This is where your research and creativity comes into the picture. The only time that you are limited by your own ability to think outside the lines. Classified advertisements could be your friend if you do utilize the ones that give you exposure. That requires spending a little money along the way. Print advertisements are also very effective. Know that you can get a better deal by going with a statewide newspaper than you actually do with one local paper. Think about it. Do you want the whole state to see your advertisement, or just the people in your own city? It is about the same cost either way, you have to be very smart about it. Always keep in mind that people that work for the newspaper company are paid on commissions. Make sure you are not paying for any fancy thing such as bold print or borders that you may or may not want. Their prices are concrete, so tell them what you are willing to spend money and most of the time they will work along your side. Also ask if there is a way to get a better price by paying for the month of weekly ads upfront? Most newspapers do offer such things as that.
